NY Wedding Photographer film and super8

I’m Autumn, a Hudson Valley and Catskills-based film wedding photographer. My approach is film-forward, story-led, and intentionally calm, the kind of presence that helps a wedding day feel like it has room to breathe. Super 8 is available for couples who want motion and memory woven into the story, too. And if your love asks us to go somewhere meaningful, I’m always up for the journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you photograph weddings?

I’m based in the Hudson Valley and regularly photograph weddings across New York City and Brooklyn, the Hudson Valley, New England, and wherever love takes me. I’m always excited to make art together in a place that holds meaning for you and your story.

Some places I’m especially excited to return to, or photograph more in, are San Francisco and Northern California (Marin County, Sea Ranch, Big Sur), the desert around Tucson and Southern Arizona, and the Colorado Rockies. If you’re planning an intentional celebration rooted in place, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up!

What is the investment to work together?

Wedding photography collections begin at $13,000. Most couples invest between $13,000–$17,000, depending on coverage, travel, and whether you add Super 8.

That said, every celebration is different. If you’re planning something intimate or especially unique and you feel a genuine connection to my work, I’d still love to hear what you’ve imagined. I’ll always do my best to point you toward the right fit, whether that’s a collection of mine or another thoughtful recommendation.

How much of our wedding day is shot on film versus digital?

I consider my approach to photographing wedding days film-forward. You can expect me to arrive with a variety of film and digital cameras (usually somewhere around 6-10 film cameras, and 1-2 digital cameras) on your wedding day, and to always have at least one of each in hand. My film work spans across medium format, 35mm and large format. While I’ll always choose the right camera for the right moment, film has my heart, and if you’ve found yourself here, likely yours too!

What film cameras do you use on a wedding day?

You can expect me to pack anywhere from 6-10 cameras for your wedding day or wedding weekend. I photograph on a variety of 35mm, medium format, large format, and instant film cameras. A few of my favorite cameras to bring to weddings include my Leica M6, Hasselblad 500c/m, Plaubel Makina 67 and Intrepid 4x5. Don’t be surprised to see a few more cameras in my kit on your wedding day, including point-and-shoots from the early aughts or toy cameras (including my beloved Holga and Polaroid SX-70!).

Do you offer videography services?

I offer Super 8 videography, and partner with some amazing videographers to offer digital videography services on wedding days, too. Unfamiliar with Super8? It’s essentially like the candid and unfussy home movies of our childhood. Think nostalgia, the right amount of softness and grain, and something that stands the test of time. While the entire filming process is analog, the film is digitized after development. This allows for editing and the addition of audio or music in post-production.

Do you photograph welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, and destination weekends?

Yes, absolutely. Some of my favorite work happens across a full weekend, when your people have time to arrive, settle in, and be fully themselves. Welcome parties and rehearsal dinners often hold the sweetest in-between moments, and allow me to meet all of your favorite people ahead of the wedding day.

Quality time is my love language, and it’s a big part of why I’m drawn to multi-day celebrations and destination weekends. If there are other moments that feel meaningful to your wedding story, I’m always happy to talk about them too. Engagement parties, wedding dress shopping, wedding showers, and even bachelorette parties. Those chapters matter, and I would love to be there for them.

If you’re planning a multi-day celebration, tell me what you’re dreaming up and I’ll share coverage options that support the shape and pace of your weekend.

When will we receive our photos?

You can expect your full wedding gallery within 8 weeks. I’m thoughtful with the editing process because I want your photographs to feel cohesive, timeless, and true to what the day actually felt like. Each couple also has the option to receive sneak peeks, just a small handful of images to hold you over while the full story is being finished.

After your gallery is delivered, I’ll mail back your original film negatives along with an artist’s selection of heirloom-quality prints. I like to think of it as the beginning of your family archive, something real to tuck away and return to years from now.

How many photos will we receive?

Every wedding day is a little different, and I photograph in a story-led way rather than aiming for a strict number. You can expect a full narrative of your day, from the quiet beginnings to the big moments and all the in-between. Most couples receive 400-600 photographs for single-day coverage and 800+ from a multi-day celebration, thoughtfully edited and delivered as a cohesive gallery.

Do you work with second photographers?

Yes, and in most cases, there is a collaborator with me on your wedding day. I work with a small circle of photographers I truly love, artists in their own right who I consider some of my favorite photographers!

Having a second photographer adds ease on a wedding day and dimension to your gallery. It means more coverage without feeling busier, more room for the day to unfold naturally, and more of the small moments happening in parallel. While I’m with you, they can be capturing the way your guests arrive, the hugs you miss, the texture of the room, or a different angle of a moment you’ll want to remember forever.

For more intimate celebrations, and for destination weddings with fewer than 75 guests, I’m also very happy to work solo. We’ll talk through the shape of your day and choose what feels most supportive, calm, and true to the experience you’re creating.

How do I hire you?

The first step is to reach out on my contact form! After I receive your inquiry, I’ll send over some information regarding my photography packages and send over my calendar to set up a call. After we’ve connected and agreed to work together, I will send over a contract request for a 30% retainer.

Do you offer mentorships?

I do! Send me an email and we can chat about setting up a time to meet in the Hudson Valley or online. We can go over all things film, photography or business. I love connecting with artists looking to make the leap to large formats (4x5 or 8x10), strengthen their client connection and workflow, or nail a unique editing style, though we can truly dive into anything!
